The moment where you’re in this state of mind and everything seems clear that this is what you’re meant to do. Even if you don’t know what the future holds, there’s peace in your heart knowing that everything will be okay, no matter what happens.
I quit my glamorous advertising job in February 2013 to live (yet again) in another country; friends constantly ask how much money I have saved up, how long my break is before going back to the real world, where would I be, etc etc etc. Honestly, I did not have a clue.
I did not have a majestic travelling itinerary. I did not have unlimited funds to travel around the world. I just knew that it was time to leave. To go where the climbing brings me, and that there is no turning back.
A close friend once asked in our never-ending long distance conversation over Gtalk, “Are you ever coming home?” In my head it was a clear and resounding “No”.
I haven’t found home yet. But someday I will. And hopefully, the wanderlust will stop. Or not.
