Extend your Working Holiday Visa

If you’ve entered Australia on the 417 Visa you’ll have the opportunity to extend your visa for another year if you complete 88 days of “specified work” in an “approved area, on the postcode list”, amongst a few other criterion. Find the criteria below to see if you are eligible for a 2nd Year Visa Extension.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Have completed 88 days of specified work in regional Australia while on your first Working Holiday 417 Visa
  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) at the time of applying, however, you may be aged over 30 years of age at the time your visa is granted
  • Be applying no more than 12 months before you intend to travel to Australia, if applying from outside Australia
  • Will not be accompanied by dependent children at any time during your stay in Australia

  • What is Specified Work?

    The Department of Immigration defines specified work as, Plant and Animal Cultivation, Fishing and Pearling, Construction, Mining, Tree Farming and Felling. Fruit Picking and harvest work is obviously the most popular to extend your Australian working holiday visa!

    The cost of visas changes from time to time. The cost of your visa is dependent on the date we receive your application. If there is a price increase between the date you lodge your application and the date we receive your application, you will need to pay the new application charge.
